Biography
Maya Delagrée is a Canadian director and cinematographer based in Spain. She works primarily in documentary, developing a deeply human cinema where the image becomes a space for memory and transformation.
Trained in social sciences before film, she favours an observational approach built on trust with the people she films, with a strong sensitivity to composition and sound.
Her recent work includes El Sisè Cicle (2026), an intimate portrait of a family of gravediggers in El Masnou, selected at FIC-CAT; L’Aigua Recorda, a feature documentary on the aftermath of the 2024 Valencia floods; and Entre Deux Eaux, which follows a man from Dakar waiting to be reunited with his family.
Alongside her films, she works as a photographer, making portraits and documentary images for companies and independent professionals across Spain.
